Nicolas Charlton is a 30 year old Anglo-German
Since I was a small kid, I have been to the UK on a yearly basis and fished the river Enborne. It's a small tributary of the river Kennet. Over the years my passion for fly fishing has just grown, especially after fishing a chalkstream for the first time. After that, I was properly hooked.
I noticed that finding and booking chalk streams was a little harder than it should be. There's no proper overview of all the beats around, and the offers are split up among a few agencies. Most websites haven't come out of the 2000s, and the information provided is usually hard to find, interpret or simply missing.
So I decided to found FishingBeats. The goal was to create a directory of publicly available fishing beats for chalk streams and help anglers easily find beats that suit them, instead of doing hour-long research and losing the overview. FishingBeats is free for users, fisheries and agencies alike, and the motivation behind it is to give chalk streams the platform they deserve.
Information on the website is gathered by me by hand, which is a long process and can be error prone, as information on the web isn't always up to date. If you feel like supporting his mission with information and pictures, go to this page or follow me on instagram @fishingbeats.
For the future there are many features lined up to improve the offerings on the website, and community features will launch, with the goal to create the #1 website for chalkstream fishing.
