My name is Andreas, and since being born in 1972, I have come to live in Germany near Dortmund.

While no one in my immediate family fished, my great-grandfather was a commercial fisherman on the Baltic Sea - perhaps that is where my deep, lifelong longing for the water comes from.

At home in Germany, you will find me fishing the large reservoirs of the Sauerland region or chasing brown trout in the River Ruhr.
However, my true passion has always been the silver of the Baltic Sea: sea trout have fascinated me from the very beginning.My coastal journey started in the mid-1980s with a spinning rod and spoons, later evolving into sbirolino-and-fly tactics.

By the year 2000, I started my first attempts with a fly rod on the Baltic coast. Today, Denmark - especially the island of Langeland - is where I feel truly at home.
Whenever I am on Langeland today, I still feel that exact same excited tingling inside me as I did back in 1986. Over time, I began tying my own flies.

I love experimenting and developing my own patterns tailored for these coastal waters.
While many ideas end up discarded, the ones that prove effective in practice make the cut.

Because there is always room for refinement, I am excited to share my fly patterns with the GFF community here and always appreciate your honest feedback.
When it comes to gear, I have a self-confessed weakness for vintage fly tackle: for my Baltic sea trout fishing, I exclusively rely on classic Sage rod models.

For me, fly fishing is simply a highly effective, rewarding, and exciting way to connect with nature, and I hope to pursue this passion for many years to come.
