Benoit has been fly fishing since the age of 5, this is now his primary method of fishing for freshwater species. He has been tying flies since 2009. He started initially out of frustration with the quality and selection of commercially availble flies. He is a self taught tyer, and continues to home his skills while he studies through a fishing/hunting program at school. This provides an insight which helps him to understand the behavior and feeding habits of the fish. While he is a novice to the art of fly tying, his love and passion for learning brings him to new patterns and techniques every time he sits down to tie.
