Notes: The Leitz Bucktail is a pattern that was put together by Mr. Earl Leitz of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. It was a client, Dr. Marks who christened the pattern in honour of it's originator after landing a specimen sized rainbow trout on the fly. The Leitz Bucktail is one of a series of streamers designed to target the "Soo" trout, a potadromous migrator commonly referred to as steelhead in the modern era. The Soo trout that traverse the St. Mary's River rapids are often impressive in size and streamers are commonly tied on large #2 hooks to match the strength of the fresh running salmonids.

nice tye Gary.. however, in Bates' "Streamer Fly Tying & Fishing" (1966) The dressing states the Black & Red Bucktail is to be "mixed equally", not stacked one on top of the other...
Other then that You did an excellent job.. even without the jungle cock cheeks :)

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
