#141 Sidewinder - Eunan Hendron

Tied by: Eunan Hendron
Originated by: Eunan Hendron

Hook: Martinek Carrie Stevens hook #2 8X Long
Thread: Black
Tail: 3 slips each, left and right, red, black and yellow goose shoulder, separated and mixed.
Body: Charcoal floss
Rib: Copper flat tinsel
Belly: Golden pheasant crest
Wing: Funky Feathers Orange Flame Badger hackle with strong dark markings flanked by a lighter marked badger hackle (same color)
Shoulder: Guinea body dyed yellow
Eye: Jungle Cock Nail
Head: Black

Notes: Eunan originally conceived this streamer under a different moniker. This streamer, and the original idea, evolved from some of John McLain's Funky Feathers. Eunan was initially after the coveted Indian Crow Badger, but they were unavailable at the time of the order and so the Orange Flame badger replaced them. With this change in wing, also came a slight change in the body color and after tying a couple different iterations, this is the one Eunan decided looked the best. The name comes from the missile of the same name, something about the finished fly reminded him of the warhead, and the name stuck.

Hi Eunan;
After our e-mail exchange yesterday about the International Fly Tying Symposium, I thought of your Sidewinder streamer today and checked it out. Beautiful creativity and work here. Very nice!

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
