I honestly have no clue to where it was in detail or what its name was. I was driven there by small mountain gravel roads, over private land, through gates and whatnot, and my impression was that it was a small, private water, rarely fished by outsiders.

Born and raised a fe

Born and raised a few miles down stream (Cattle Flat) from where this was shot . Typical early season conditions. Don't catch many large trout (6 lb plus) here.
Typical size is usually 2-4 lb mark, but all in prime condition and tend to be extremely wary and selective as to be expected from a wild hatchery. Deserving of it's world class reputation

This is too cool!!! I have rods that are called "Float and Fly." They are a spinning rod built from a fly rod blank. Mine are both 9 foot and probably translate into a 6 or 7 weight. I am using the newly released Nanofil line which is super slick. I'm now going to build a trial shooting head using your directions and give it a try on the Nanofil.
