Water is warming up fast

The summer is upon us. Before you could say 'trout' the temperature rose from 8-9 deg Centigrade into the teens, and some places already go as high as 15 deg Centigrade. The water still ought to be a very good place for sea trout to roam, but the reports are still few and the fish far apart. Some stories are told from the S/E part of Denmark, where spin fishers take large fish - 3-6 kg (6-12 lb.) in the middle of the night. The usual fly fishing in the nights has not yet commenced, and I'm still waiting for my first summer trout

So many cod

On the other hand I have never experienced a winter, spring and early summer with so many cod. Some of my own trips have been pure adventures, and other people tell the same story.
Just a few nights ago I promised a friend some good cod fishing. I wasn't aware of how well the evening would fulfill that promise. We fished from 6 o'clock, and from 7 almost to midnight we had a cod in every cast. It was a feast! The location was a new place to me, chosen after finding one of our favourite spots occupied by at least 10 fishers. We returned to this place yesterday, and even though it was not quite like the first time, it was more than fine.
The cod has returned.

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
