Yes, this is a review!
This is my subjective and personal impression of a product that I bought and paid for and actually looked forward to. But I was disappointed, and the most significant issues were exactly as I said:
- poor packaging
- sub par technical quality
- high end user price (all included to me as an ordinary buyer)
The content was not good enough to overshadow these facts.
So that was really the review!

Martin, is it really review ? What i know from this "review" : price too high, they count you for shipping, there is no cover, the footage is not innovative .... Half review is about price ...

Well, no water to fish doesn't mean you can't practice! Tie a couple of flies on a leader - a beadhead as the dropper and one light nymph as the point fly. Cut off the hook points and go practice on the snow! The white cover will make it easy to see if the flies land properly! Practicing on a lawn can be a great way of getting in shape before the ice breaks and the streams clear up.
Be prepared and beat the *beep* out of your fishing buddies when the spring comes... ;-)

The acrylic adhesion process is NOT nearly as effective with phur and hair as it is with pheatherz...
There has to be an anchor point and pheatherz have that characteristic...
hair and phur, NOT SO MUCH... 'lacking a proper foot print to take hold...
Regarding the suspect phly in question... clumped and wrapped...

Acrylics don't seem to have the same invasive sticky tenacity as the toluene rich goop, softex, and marine adhesives...
AND they DON'T have the intrusive toxic odors... [as in drain bamage!]
I find Tuffleye and Bug-Bond easier to manage and very effective for my intended applications...
They have their limitations but the good dwarfs the bad and they set up "on command"... my new favourite medium...
epoxy and toluene be gone!

Thank you for your response. That makes sense. Learning to cast that way (and targeting a shorter distance) will also ease in the task of mending my line. I wish the rivers here in Ohio would thaw out so I can continue practicing. Thanks again.

The answer is both yes and no. The weighted fly will get down, which is the primary reason to fish with a split shot on your leader. But the problem is that the heavy fly will behave different compared to an unweighted one, which moves more freely.
Fishing with split shot or several flies can be a curse, and even the seasoned fly angler will tangle occasionally. The remedy is to learn to cast properly, and a slow and open casting stroke will generally make it easier to control the flies. And don't be too ambitious regarding distance! Long casts will most likely make it worse. You can also take this to its extreme, and opt for a "European" fishing style, high sticking or a similar technique, which does not require casting as such. And don't be fooled by this, because these methods can be very productive.

I hate fly fishing with a split shot. I am relatively new to fly fishing and have a tendency to get the split shot tangled with my flies. I am sure this is a rookie mistake (and I plan to take lessons to improve my casts) BUT in the short term, fishing a weighted fly would/could eliminate the use of a split shot correct?

Great job, you can also omit many steps and go to a craft store-they have similar eyes made already and all you have to do is the coating step-I use Hard Head cement and the eyes are saltwater proof as well!

Found some good spot,s and caught some Trout + Chub on the Fly in Bansko in the Mountains and on the Sumia + meet some Bulgarian Fisher's and went on the Mesia, Great day !
as your sole purpose is to make fly fishing more popular in Bulgaria.
Have or are you adding more places to fish as i have Friends here in the Uk asking me about this and if there is a link to places + photos that would be great, tying up some of your sharks caddis larva, going to try these on a Grayling river ( Test ) next week, so hope they will do the trick, let me know about more rivers etc in Bulgaria etc
