Be well!

Comment to David Mac

David, first get better. Second, Roderick Haig-Brown once said; "I have fished through fishless days that I remember happily without regret." Thought I would relate one of those day. So I am on the edge of a lake full of trout and Big mouth. Great spot, right under a hugh pine tree. Nothing all day but I am loving it. Then from across the lake, a spot a bird. It keeps getting bigger, and bigger. Straight out in front of me. It hits the water and snags a beautiful fish, then lands right above me in that pine. Next thing I know fish scales are falling on my head. I must admit it was one beautiful eagle. I packed up and left him to his dinner. Best to you and yours, Robert

“The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache.”

Great stuff as always Alan. Beauties like this are almost too sweet to fish.

Beautiful fly...sleek, simple, great colors.

Comment to #44 - Don's Delight

Darren, a fine piece of tying, on a classic Stevens pattern.

Thanks Alan! I always see where I can make improvements, but you know how it is. :)

Thanks Avril. Carrie was ahead of her time in many ways. Thanks for the comment.

I would like to lear

I would like to learn more about bass bugs

whatever happens to

whatever happens to me while fishing it wont be worse compared to skiing, creeking, biking , drinking, kiffing. watching TV or falling in love.... So go out and fish as long as you can, there is nothing better for my mood and health then to be near a fish with a rod in my hand

I am new to streamers and your wing thing system is brilliant. So is your fly. Thanks for sharing both.

Like a punch on my face

Hi Martin,

Knowing about your MS was like a punch on my face. I know many fishermen from many places, but no one with your enthusiasm about fishing. I'm sure that passion and your optimistic thinking will let you enjoy fishing and traveling for other 50 years!

You are on our prayers!

The best for you man!

I heartily agree wit

I heartily agree with 90% of the above--especially the staff. I don't own a cell phone and probably won't. I fish alone because the solitude is my therapy. I tell my wife, you go to your church and I'll go to mine. The river.

Donald,

Donald,

Those are really beautiful flies! Classic, simple, good looking. And probably also effective fishing flies.

That's cer

Terry,

That's certainly a pity! But not anything we can do much about...

Try contacting Mustad. They have more contact information online than you can throw a stick at - addresses, phone numbers, email-addresses, contact forms. They shouldn't be hard to reach.

I have been on line

I have been on line all morning trying to order 2000 of the 91753-DT and seems to be impossible.

Mike,

Mike,

Like Hare's Ear I can only say: envy, envy!

The winter has just turned up a notch or two the latest weeks, and now we have ice almost all over the place. No fishing here. Fly tying, photos and GFF articles. That's m'life! And some work, a bit of food, some sleep and a few other things...

Martin

Since you got this far …

A money box
The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
