It's been a truly amazing year and I have many, many people to thank for all of their hard work in creating streamers for the project, promoting the posts, creating artwork and getting the word about the streamers out there.

First off, a huge thanks to my wife Lori for all of the support in taking on this project. She was a big part in putting the book together with proofreading and editing.

A big part of the project is the artwork that is and will appear on the covers. Jeff Kennedy, Joel Dejong, Diane Michelin, Les Booth and Nick Laferriere have all had a hand in the final look of the books. It is amazing to be able to work with all this wonderful talent.

Without the immense talent of the tyers involved in the project, it just simply would not exist. Thank you Don Bastian, Jim Bennet, Scott Bernard, Mike Boyer, Peggy Brenner, Bill Chandler, Ken Craigue Jr, Michael Decoteau, Dan Despres, Chris Del Plato, Selene Dumaine, Robert Frandsen, Gary Fraser, Bryant Freeman, Robert Galante, Alan Grombacher, Jon Harrang, Eunan Hendron, Robbie Hiltz, Ryan Houston, Cory Koenig, Val Kropiwnicki, Steve Labrecque, Harri Lehtonen, Dave Lomasney, Kelly Lovelady, David Mac (McDonnell), Jim Malo, Charlie Mann, Mike Martinek Jr., Dwayne Miller, Marcelo Morales, Don Ordes, Loretta Parent, Ted Patlen, Alan Petrucci, Robert Petti, Glenn Peckel, Barry Phillips, Peter Simonson, Jeff Smith, Monte Smith, Tony Smith, Don Soar, Joel Stansbury, Gary Tanner, Jim Warner and Damian Welsh for all the wonderful, brilliant streamers you contributed to the project. It has been a pleasure to be able to photograph and document your work.

Thanks to all of the awesome bloggers who took the time to share the site with their readers. Cameron Mortenson of The Fiberglass Manifesto, Dave Hosler of Pile Cast dot Net, Kent Klewin and Lewis Cahill of Gink and Gasoline, Mark Kautz-Shoreman of Northern California Trout, Alan Petrucci of Small Stream Reflections, Chris Del Plato at The Streamer List, Monte Smith at NW Fly Tyer, The gang at Midcurrent, Jim Yaussy Albright of Home Waters, Jeff Kennedy at Drawing Flies 365, Ozark Fly Fisher Journal, Normand Frechette at Fly Tying New and Old, Eunan Hendron at Addicted to Vise, Don Bastian of Don Bastian Wet Flies

Over the year, we had more than 20,000 visitors to the site with over 200,000 pages viewed. We have donated more than $3000 to several worthy organizations which will help to bring new angler's to the sport, conserve our salmon and trout and provide a location we can discuss all things streamer related. We presented over 366 patterns over the course of the year tied by over 50 fly tyres. All in all, this surpassed expectations by a landslide.

2013 will see the project continue on a smaller scale with about 104 patterns being presented over the year by 25 of the streamer tyers from the project. There will be 2-3 hair-wing streamers presented each week over the year. These will again be presented in a book near the end of the 2013 project.

Planning is getting underway for the 2014 edition and will be featuring Steelhead and Salmon streamers. If you are interested in taking part (or know other interested tyres), please get in touch with Darren at streamers365 [at] gmail [dot] com. Please send a sample image or link to some of your flies.

All the best in 2013! Happy New Year!

Darren, you brightened my life with this project. I loved looking at the "streamer of the day". I looked forward to that each, and every day. Thank you for all the hard work. This was a brilliant project. The tyers delighted me with their renditions of new, and old patterns. Thank you all so very much!

Darren, as Kelly L says above, you have also "brightened my life" with this project and although I happened upon it late, it has been a resource that has renewed my passion for tying flies and for that I am grateful. What I'm not greatful for is the expense that I have incurred in trying to source good materials to tie these flys and for that I WILL GET EVEN with you.JJJJ LOL!!
Kidding aside, thanks for the hard work you put into this and I'm going to miss getting my "new pattern" around 8:15 am Pacific Time.
Cheers.

Don't get mad, get even right. :)

I'm glad to hear how you have enjoyed the project Barry. I'm happy to tell you that it will continue on a bit of a smaller scale. Look for the email a couple times a week now. :) Cheers

Thanks Kelly for both your streamers and for all of the wonderful comments you have posted each day. You were the number one commenter on the blog for the year with well over 200 posts. :)

Cheers!

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
