William's Fancy Fly Recipe

Hook: 6xl streamer hook #2-#12
Thread: Black 8/0
Tag: Copper flat tinsel
Butt: Peacock herl dyed orange
Body: Orange yarn or floss
Rib: Silver oval tinsel
Throat: Badger dyed orange hackle fibers
Wing: Orange bucktail under black bucktail
Head: Black

Notes: Orange and black has been a proven colour combination for luring the east coast's Atlantic salmon and sea run trout to the angler's line. Jesse developed the streamer specifically for Nova Scotia's wild salmonids, but there is no reservation about the success the fly will find beyond the Maritime province's borders. The fly was named after Jesse's son William who seemed drawn to the fly while being assembled in the clasp of the vise. The black and orange colours will find the most success fished in the fall months.

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
