The Bow River bugger is a hybrid pattern, the body of a woolly bugger and the spun deer hair head of a muddler minnow. Designed in the 1980s to mimic anything big, bait fish, leeches or sculpins, for fishing large brown trout and rainbows in Alberta’s Bow River.

Tail: Tip of a marabou plume and crystal flash
Rib: Heavy copper wire
Body: Rusty brown SLF squirrel dubbing
Hackle: Brown cock hackle
Collar/head Brown dyed deer belly hair
