I have a leeda reel

I have a leeda reel thats about 25 years old and Love the design and handling of the reel.
And it still works pretty good, just started to get a little rust problems.
Have been searching for the same reel for a couple of years, and would really want a simular reel but with a good, slow brake system.

NOTHING to do with flyfishing

Hello Martin, you are absolutly right; threre is no need for discussion about this technique because it has definitly absolutly NOTHING to do with flyfishing. Sorry, but only the use of a fly can`t be reason enough to think, this could be flyfishing in any way.

I've burned through several versions of this pattern. Copper tinsel, copper braid, more red bucktail, less orange squirrel, yellow hackle fibers, yellow whatever, etc. Frankly, Brook Trout are not too picky. Certainly not in the Fall (when I fish most). The spawn is on and their minds are elsewhere.

It's not the best conversion I've tied. It's certainly not the worst. It gets the job done:

We've had some pretty odd weather here too. The other morning we had a thunderstorm with some 35-40,000 ligtnings over Copenhagen. Thunder was rumbling constantlly for 30-40 minutes while flashes were seen every second or two.

Amazing and beautiful, but not our common August weather!

Want to say thanks for the help, I got here. I use this fly for trout fishing long time ago, and that is why I was so interested in learning to tie it. When fishing for trout, size's of material become a major issue, I finally go the real material name and that is American Rooster Cape Bronze Badger. This is for smaller sizes, used with trout. This flies name came from up in Montana flat lands, middle of the state, and was named for some reason was different and it was called the Black Hole Demon. While there fishing, I caught a really nice 14" Rain Bow trout, in slow moving water.

When I first star

When I first started fly-fishing 5 years ago, GlobalFlyFisher was among the first ones I had found on the Internet. I've found all the informations I need. Same goes for the shooting heads and tube flies, and other stuff related to fly fishing. It also convinced me that I can built my own rods!

iot is not customary or me to leave questions like that unanswered. But on return rom that trip I got seriously ill. There were also some very fundamental changes in my life.
Since July I am "back in the world". My daughter still likes to fish. 😄
I did not pick up a flounder in the Baltic on that trip. Keeping up the tradition we are going again this October.
I will take two fly rods with me, besisdes some conventional tackle, a 6 weight to give the flounders a second chance and a 9 weight with a fast sinking tip or the pike. The waters there are known for large northern and that time of the year tey are holding deep. I caught a 75 cm fish on spinning tackle. The same day a kid caught a meter pike, they are not considered to be large there,

More goodies from your vices (and I know you have several!).

I fooled around with some Bug-Bond the other day (light curing stuff), and man! That's gonna revive my epoxy craze from years back! So easy to use, no waste and great results.

I'm definitely gonna weld some flies and try that technique one of these days. I just have to order more of the stuff since I'm using it faster than I expected.

Regarding fly shows there are essentially two large ones: Fly Fair in the Netherlands and the Danish Fly Festival here in Denmark. The Brits also have some shows, but none are as large or fly fishing exclusively as far as I know. The two shows alternate. Next year will be in the Netherlands (Hopefully. I haven't seen it announced yet) and the year after that in Denmark.

If you mean where the pictures of me (in clear water in a brown T-shirt) were shot, they were all done off the coast of the Danish island Falster, But the different baskets and devices were tested many other places.

Badger feathers are found on many races of chickens but my own favorites were White Sussex and Wyandotter, which both have some beautiful multicolor feathers with contrasting rims.
For grizzly it's usually Plymouth Rock that rules.

Where to buy?

Well, search the web or your local classifieds to find sources. You want to buy locally... although I did once buy chickens through mail. They were grownup Orpingtons and were literally mailed overnight in a large cardboard box marked "Live animals", which was delivered by our regular mailman (a woman, actually)!
