I have a good supply of acrylic paints used for ceramics .Can i use these for eyeing my streamers and for coloring the heads of my flies or is there a difference. Clear nail polish would be used to finish as in your article.

First of all, that is not a chain, it is the tippet, a light one, if we mind it is a metallic tippet.
I haven't made that leader with leather, so, if you see any leather strip it should be one of my fingers!!

Henrik is not "sponsored" by Scierra. He works there! A bit of perspective would be fine here. The man is hired by Scierra to develop gear. I can't see why that would be a problem, and I don't see how this fact can affect the review or my meaning about the quality of the DVD's.
The comment about my being sponsored by Scierra is also pure nonsense! I feel pretty offended by that, actually!
Sure I have some gear that Scierra let me test, but if that is being sponsored, then I'm also sponsored by Hardy, Echo, Scott, Partridge and a couple of dozen other gear manufacturers... as well as most of the world's fishing litterature publishers by the way.
That is part of what we do: we get stuff to try and write about. Like all other magazines and many web sites like our's.

Here in far Southern Maine, Stripers are one of the few reliable catches from May to September. I like that crab patterns of yours and I'm a fan of simpler flies. We do use a fair number of epoxy patterns and, of course, large Pollock, Mac and Bunker patterns - but even with those large "baits", I find myself tying as simply as possible.
Heading North to the lower Kennebec in the AM. Maybe I'll throw some version of that crab...

Vanuz, the competition dates where made public 2 months before on the biggest danish forums, a month before in most of the danish fishing magazines :o) As well as several other websites, mostly those which concerns themselves with the actual act of casting a flyline ;o)
I know the CFCC board wanted to get out a lot sooner, but due to stalling from the city concerning an adequate location to hold the championships (apparently all bigger fields are just meant to be used to kick a piece of inflated leather around) they could not...
Phillip, it would indeed have been the most impartial thing to do, to have the championships indoor, no wind meaning everybody would have the same conditions at all times. The plan was to set up the lanes so the wind would have come directly from behind, and had the forecast been right for that second day of summer, it would have been so. It took about 5 hours to set up all the lanes on saturday, so it wasn't really possible to change them on competition day, though that would have been the most fair thing to do, seeing as there actually was a lefthanded competitior willing to participate ;o) If you have any ideas as to where it could be held indoors I'm sure the CFCC board would like to hear about it, somewhere which has a hall the size of an outdoor football field is needed, and with high enough to the ceilling to cast a flyrod :o)

I have used glass bead caddis pupae/larvae for a quite a few years. Was one of the first flies I tied - obviously because of the simplicity. I've seen them marketed here as 'Killer Caddis' - and sold in kits.
Simple patterns on curved hooks with a touch of dubbing at the back, followed by several beads and then a larger (and usually darker) section of dubbing behind the eye. Beige/tan, green, black are the usual colors for the beads. Have also tied some with gold bead at the head.
I find they work very well, and the segmented look you get with the beads is very true to the real thing.
That's one of the more prettier fish on this site. Love the blue along the lateral line.
Nice story, fish and crawfish pattern rybolov! I'll have to give it a shot up here in wisconsin. Sorry to hear about the flooding out east, looks pretty bad. Out here the rivers are way below normal water level, figures eh?
Most of the warm water rivers around here are packed with crawfish and smallmouth as well. However most of the water is stained pretty dark (from tanic acid) so I might have to subsitute some brighter colors.

I use the improved clinch knot! Have been for over 40 years. It has served me well. I will use tomorrow on my splendid local stream. Those who dislike this knot may not be tying it correctly. A possibility!

Well I have lots of fun with these poppers, I tied them in yellow, fl pink, hot orange.
Great also for shads and when the mackerel is close to the shore well keep your eyes open before you get scare to dead ;-)

I have used glass beads tied on scud hooks size 10-14. I use these bead lavaes for roach during the summer. A good color combination is a dark brown with a orange bead in front. Also an orange one where every second bead is clear/pearlish has given results now and then.
