Off to the Fly Festival 2017

Tomorrow I will leave for a couple of days of fly tying, being with good friends and maybe spending a little money on fly tying

Every second year a couple of sports halls and a couple of soccer fields in the Danish city Kolding is buzzing with fly tyers and fly anglers.
Because every second year the Danish branch of Federation of Fly Fishers arrange the Danish Fly Festival and invites members and the public to spend a day or two in the company of other enthusiasts, shops, outfitters, clubs and many other operations and individuals who will share their interest in fly fishing and fly tying.
I usually participate as an active member. Last year I demoed fly photography and earlier years I have tied flies and been participating in other activities. This year I will be back at the tyers' tables and you can meet me there, showing some pretty odd flies inspired by Australian Rob Meade. Pass by, say hello and see some contraptions that you will probably only see few of during this show.
I'm not the only reason to come – if a reason at all. There's a lot of other things to see and experience. Lots of other fly tyers, casting demos, lots of commercial booths where you can buy all the stuff you need and want.

You can also attend one of the presentations or network sessions, which are running all through both days and cover a large number of subjects including casting and practical fishing as well as experiences and travels. These sessions give a well deserved break in the show, and lets you get the weight off your feet for a while.

I can see from the program that I will be tying Saturday before noon and Sunday afternoon. Find me at the tyers' isle and say hello.
If you don't find me there, you can find me on the show floor both days when I'm not tying. I'm pretty easy to recognize since I'm one of the very few attendants in a wheelchair.

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
