Melancholic Dodding in New Zealand

This video is made of scraps from a trip in 2011/12 to New Zealand. I've felt so depressed over the winter that edits such as this are typical - no smiles, hardly any emotion, just an all-consuming self-pity. I ask myself that fundamental question of life: why am I not fly fishing? Meanwhile, the snow falls, the rivers are frozen and my bank account drained. It is at times like that edits such as this one come about - all mellow and moody. I forgot about this one until recently. Spring came, fishing had to be done and then, suddenly, I remembered. Which is a paradox, because now it is actually possible to fish, rather than just dream about it. Another paradox is that it takes longer to read this than to watch the video. I'll stop now. Enjoy!

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
