Martin Westbeek is a marketing communications lecturer living in Holland. He has fished since age 12, but took a break in the seventies, got back into the swing in the eighties, wondering why he ever took that break in the first place, and determined to make up for lost time.

His home water is the typical Dutch lowland "polder" Wilnis, but what Martin likes best is fishing for trout in streams or lakes, in fresh and saltwater. Tying has become as much a passion for him as fishing, and Martin is a regular tyer at shows and fairs in Holland, Germany, Denmark and Britain, and also tied in the USA.

Loves: the best quality hackle, his LAW vise, tying technique

Pet peeves: good stuff going out of fashion, having to resort to reading glasses, gas and hook prices

    Mart's Parachute Ant

During the warmer months of the year, they are just about anywhere... Ants. Martin Westbeek shows an easy way to tie a good ant imitation that will sit well on the surface and hopefully lure trout or grayling.

    Blog Creek

Like many of you we're chained to our computers, thinking about fly fishing. This webblog is our outlet to keep our heads from exploding.

    Martīs Bibio

A nice thing about this Bibio is that it's versatile. Play with it, use lighter of heavier hooks, fish it with or without floatant, wrap a thinner or denser hackle, and so on. But make sure you have some Bibios in your flybox spring suddenly is here.
