Danish? Ain't that something you eat?
I am one of the creators and web masters of The Global Fly Fisher. The other originator is Steven Schweitzer. and we partner together with Bob Petti and Bob Skehan, who originated the Raske's New England Streamer Page, now merged into GFF.
I live in Copenhagen, Denmark (That's København, Danmark in Danish). Just for your information; Denmark is that little country in Scandinavia, just north of Germany. We brought you H.C.Andersen, The Little Mermaid, Danish pastry, a real queen (Magrethe II) and many other things. And we offer some of the world's best fishing for sea run brown trout both in fresh and salt water.
Serious (and relevant according to my friend Henning) facts:
- I'm an avid fly tyer and fly fisher
- I have written articles in Danish and International fishing and fly tying magazines
- I have contributed to fly tying and fly fishing books in both Danish and English
- I have tied at shows in Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands and the US
- I have spoken on many occasions in clubs both home and abroad
Off beat facts:
- I'm a computer and Internet freak - and proud of it
- I raise chickens for eggs, feathers and meat (that priority)
- I'm a biologist (Still short of a theses, though), specializing in arctic meiofauna
- I'm an avid cook cooks for the family 9 out of 10 meals
- I'm a sucker for cold weather I love winter fishing
- I use a Surgeons loop for 90% of my flies. Second comes the Trilene knot third the Palomar.
- I use Drennan Double Strength for all my tippets
- I use home made furled leaders for much of my fishing. These are *not* braided, but furled AKA twined. Lately the old fashioned knottede leader has regained popularity, though
- I relax in front of my computer making this web site on fly fishing and fly tying together with Steve Schweitzer, Bob Skehan, Bob Petti, and contributors from all over the world.
- I also read piles of books.
- I try not to go fishing without my Lawrence Waldron ceramic hook sharpener
Regards,

You are of course welcome with any kind of comments or suggestions which can also be sent to me by regular e-mail (martin@globalflyfisher.com).

GFF partner Martin Joergensen recently returned from a trip to British Columbia. Although he has promised to write up some text about the trip, his pictures are just too pretty to stash away for much longer. A lot more will follow.
