Manipulation
| There are a couple of new pictures in this section. I have once again experimented with the unknown and hidden beauty in the flies and materials that we use - aspects that can be brought out through computer manipulation.

Humble experiments
On this page I present my humble experiments with flies and computers. I've tried getting pictures of flies into the computer in many ways including drawing them, scanning photos and scanning the flies themselves. Actually the last method is my preferred, and if I want to work in B/W I always scan the fly directly. If you want to know more about this method and the proces of making the pictures, click here. It's a bit heavy on the graphics so be patient.

Large files
To see the pictures shown here in greater detail, click on the one you want. Please note the the pictures are quite large and detailed (500*500 pixels in 256 colors) and range from 30 KB to over 90 KB. Again, they can take some time to transfer, so have patience.

A small black tube fly inspired by the classical Undertaker and flies like the Green Butt. This small fly shows that bube flies do not have to be large. It's petite, it's black and it's sexy with a small hotspot.
If you thought that silk lines, split cane rods and full dressed salmon flies was something people used a century ago, you may want to read this article about Niels Have who fishes his classical flies on a Phoenix silk line wound on a Hardy Perfect reel mounted on a Highlander two-hand split cane rod.
The International Fly Tying Symposium was held on November 17th and 18th in Somerset, New Jersey. As usual, the place was wall-to-wall fly tyers, tying everything from giant saltwater streamers to trout flies. Streamers, salmon flies, you name it - someone was tying it.
