Pattern categories
You can participate with one fly in as many of these categories as you please. That will give a maximum of six flies per contestantand six chances to win. The names of the tyers will be withheld during until the winners have been chose, so in theory you can win more than one category.
The FlyMeister contest depends heavily on sponsors. Our aim has been to keep the contestants free of charges, and in order to do that, we rely on contributors of prizes, gifts and money. Traditional Salmon Featherwing - Gordon
A real challenge for the skilled tyer. We want a full feather wing salmon fly, and the pattern is madatory: The Gordon.
Catskill Dry Fly
Dry fly tied in the traditional Catskill style.
Muddler
Any muddler pattern will do. We want flies with spun deer hair heads.
Saltwater Baitfish
Any imitation or suggestive pattern of a salt water baitfish. Any tying style or material is accepted.
Featherwing Streamer
This category is open for everything from classical New England streamer patterns to modern or traditional streamer patterns for trout and salmon.
Tube Fly
Any fly on a tube. As simple as that!
